As a digital marketer i’ve always kept an eye on my own SERPS ( ‘Chris Eden’). Much to my disappointment I don’t usually rank first page, there’s apparently some really good laparoscopic radical prostatectomy surgeon that usually dominates At least its a worthy job, probably more useful than my Facebook page!

I checked this morning and noticed this domain has been rising up the rankings for the last fews days. It’s a ‘people search engine’ called 123 people.

It shows results for a particular name including social networks, blogs, documents, email addresses, videos, phone numbers.

Quite useful if you need to find some info out about someone. Probably something a lot of prospective employers might start to employ even more than just a standard Google search.

Obviously this infomation is all freely available on the internet but it’s quite scary when it’s all fed into one view. I’d advise checking it out, it’s a good way to double check there’s nothing out there you don’t want there to be. Of course if it is already out there it’s pretty hard to get rid of !

Not sure how long this has been going but as the domain gains equity we could see at the top of most results similar to how we see Wikipedia constantly ranking high for people’s names.
